Paris-Oslo process - comments by ECA Comments on the draft REDD+ Partnership Agreement
In this submission the Ecosystems Climate Alliance provides its feedback to the draft text of the Interim REDD+ partnership under the so-called Paris-Oslo process.
Description:
The main issues that are raised concern the need for full participation of all stakeholders in the further work of the partnership, the limited mandate of the partnership (coordinating rather than implementing), the need to focus on information sharing and transparant coordination of extant and future REDD+ financing commitments and on improving the practices of implementing bodies. ECA furthermore reflects on the importance of progress on the language in the UNFCCC REDD text on protecing natural forests including peatsoils, safeguarding biodiversity, ecosystems services and indigenous peoples rights. ECA furthermore proposes priorities for REDD+ funding.
